April 15, 2025, the contest within the ERASMUS+ program marked an important event – for the first time, mobility will take place between the National University of Food Technologies (NUFT) and the University of Opole, Poland. This cooperation became possible thanks to the perseverance and high professionalism of Ukrainian lecturers, among whom Igor Yakymenko, Head of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Management, Professor, Doctor of Biological Sciences of NUFT, deserves special recognition.
Professor Yakymenko successfully passed the competitive selection, demonstrating deep knowledge in his field, a clear vision for future cooperation with Polish colleagues, and convincing motivation to participate in the ERASMUS+ program. His application was highly evaluated by the commission, which noted the professor's significant scientific achievements, his pedagogical experience, and the potential for establishing fruitful academic connections with the University of Opole. This first mobility between NUFT and the University of Opole opens new perspectives for both educational institutions. It is expected that Professor Yakymenko will spend time at the University of Opole, where he will have the opportunity:
- Deliver a series of lectures for Polish students.
- Exchange experience with Polish colleagues on the latest teaching methods and scientific research.
- Establish contacts for future joint research projects and publications.
- Familiarize himself with the educational and research infrastructure of the University of Opole.
Professor Yakymenko's success is not only his personal achievement but also a significant event for NUFT. This first mobility with the University of Opole lays a solid foundation for further fruitful cooperation, opening opportunities for the exchange of students, lecturers, and the implementation of joint educational and scientific initiatives.
We congratulate Professor Yakymenko on this important victory and wish him success during his stay at the University of Opole. This event underscores the importance of the ERASMUS+ program in expanding the international horizons of Ukrainian educational institutions and promoting their integration into the European educational space. It is expected that the successful experience of Professor Yakymenko will inspire other lecturers and students of NUFT to join the ERASMUS+ program and use its opportunities for their own development and the development of Ukrainian education.
