The Coat of Arms of the National University of Food Technologies is a French shield of blue colour, fitted into a golden decorative cartouche, in the heart of which there is an emblem of the University which corresponds to the philosophy of the educational institution.

On both sides of the shield there are shield-holders that are allegoric figures. To the right of the shield there is the figure of Mercury (Hermes), the God of farming, trade, technology (technical equipment). To the left of the shield there is the figure of Demeter, who is the Goddess of fertility, agriculture and prosperity. They symbolize the basic principles of the University. Heraldic shield is topped with the words "NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF FOOD TECHNOLOGIES" and the symbolic "Heraldic crown" from oak leaves (a symbol of mature strength, courage, valour) and a wheat ear (a symbol of fertility, prosperity, vitality). At the foot of heraldic shield there is a motto ribbon with an inscription in Latin: "FIDES, TRADITUS, HONOR" (faith, tradition, honor). Under the motto ribbon there is a wreath of oak leaves and wheat ear, these symbols coincide with the symbols of "Heraldic crown".

The designer is Oleh Kravchenko, a member of Ukrainian Assosiatioin of Designers, academician of the Ukrainian Academy of heraldry, trademark and logo.

THE FLAG OF THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF FOOD TECHNOLOGIES reproduces primary colors of the University emblem.

The FLAG is of rectangular shape with 2:3 aspect ratio – the famous golden ratio. The upper band of the flag is yellow (golden) and the lower one is red. Yellow (golden) colour symbolises richness, purity, justice, power; it corresponds to the color of a ripe ear – one of the major components of food technologies. The red band of the flag is a symbol of generosity, sustainability, vitality, love, wisdom, enlightenment. Both bands are equal and they match the colours of the University emblem.

In the center of the cloth from its spear edge to the right free edge there is a blue stripe, which is 1/12 of the flag length. The colour of the stripe symbolizes spirituality, greatness and purity (of the sky). The blue stripe is outlined with white stripes on the top and in the bottom which symbolize purity and justice, the thickness of each stripe is 1/12 of the width of the blue band.

The symbolism of the colours of the flag is the same as of the University emblem and is based on the laws of vexillology.

The Emblem of the NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF FOOD TECHNOLOGIES corresponds to the philosophy of the educational institution. The emblem is a composition, the main element is a gear of yellow (golden) color symbolizing industry and the relation of the institution to the development of technological equipment. At the top of the gear there is a small coat of arms of Ukraine – TRIDENT of yellow (golden) colour on a blue shield, symbolizing that the University has the status of National University. In the center of the gear on a blue background (blue colour has long been considered as the color of spirituality, greatness and purity of sky) there is an open book in white, symbolizing education, science, knowledge which are the source of wealth and abundance.

On the background of the book on the left there is a yellow (golden) torch with yellow (golden) and red flame. It symbolizes vitality, wisdom, strength of knowledge, education, namely "Torch of knowledge". To the right of the torch on the background of the book there is a retort, the upper part of which is white and the bottom one is red. The retort is outlined with a blue line of equal thickness and symbolizes chemical processes used in food technologies. To the right of the book there is an ear of yellow (golden) color which symbolizes the basis of vitality, welfare and relation to the food industry technologies.
