The faculty was founded in April, 2000. It includes the following departments: Automatization of Control Processes, Integrated Automated Systems, Information Systems, Informatics and Higher Mathematics.
The first dean of the faculty was Docent Ihor Volodymyrovych Elperin. He conducted a huge amount of work not only in organization and formation of the faculty, but also in material base improvement, both of laboratories and dormitory #4.
In 2000, about 500 students studied at the faculty. There were three specializations: Automated Control of Technological Processes, Computer Integrated Technological Processes of Production and Information Сontrol Systems and Technologies.
From January, 2006 until 2017 Lyudmyla Yuriivna Manokha, Docent of Information Systems Department, was the dean of the faculty. She continued formation and improvement of the faculty. During that time, a shift to new branch standards of higher education in Ukraine was conducted for Computer Science and Computer Integrated Technologies. It was a complete shift to the credit transfer education system. In 2011 within the branch of Computer Science, a master program in new specialization Computer Ecology and Economics Monitoring was opened.
From 2015, after approval of the new list of specializations, the faculty started preparation of specialists in specializations 122 “Computer Science and Information Technologies” (from 2016 “Computer Science”) and 151 “Automatization and Computer Integrated Technologies” in academic degrees “bachelor” and “master”, and in specialization “Automatization and Computer Integrated Technologies – scientific degree “Philisophy Doctor” and “Doctor of Science”. In 2017, for students who have in-service studies, distance form of studying was implemented.
Since 2017, Forsyuk Andrii Vasylovych, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Docent of Thermal Power Generation and Refrigeration Department, has been acting as the dean. Today, almost 700 students are studying at the ACS faculty.
Nowadays, there are three main departments in the structure of the faculty: Integrated Automated Control Systems, Automatization and Intellect Control System, Information Systems. There are also departments of general engineering and natural science preparation: Informatics and Higher Mathematics named after Professor V.I.Mozhar.
There are 85 lecturers, including 14 professors and 40 docents at the faculty.
