The Center of Information Technologies is a structural subdivision of the National University of Food Technologies.
The main tasks of the Center are to provide faculties, departments and other departments and services of the University with a technological platform for informatization of the educational process based on the information computer network of the University and computer multimedia systems, solving problems of intra-university informatization, work in information technology and resources educational process, scientific and administrative and economic activities of the university, interuniversity activities in the field of information technology and resources, international activities in the field of informatization.
The main functions of the Center are:
- development of mechanisms for the introduction of information technology in the educational process and other areas of the university;
- checking the projects of the University in the field of equipment and implementation of hardware and software of information technologies;
- promoting the legalization of software used at the University;
- performance of works on creation, introduction and support of information and communication technologies for the purpose of information maintenance of educational process and support of activity of university;
- methodical support and technical support of application of computer equipment in educational process at faculties and chairs of the NUFT;
- creation of a technological platform and technical support for the work of faculties and departments on the creation and placement in the network of the University of electronic educational resources;
- technological and methodological support of information systems, including general university distance learning system;
- further development of the unified information network of the university and improvement of its integration into national and international networks;
- development of design solutions for the creation of local and remote computer networks for faculties, departments and services of the University;
- improvement of network infrastructure;
- development and maintenance of software and hardware complexes of information servers of the University, organization of access to the information stored on them from the internal network, if necessary, from the Internet, development and implementation of means of delimitation of access rights to information;
- ensuring efficiency, operation and improvement of hardware and software complexes of general university computer classes;
- methodological support and organization of the system of professional development of teachers and employees of the University in the field of use of modern information technologies in the educational process and management activities;
- development and technical support of the University web-site;
- design (together with interested departments and services), creation and development of the automated information system of the University;
- creation and use of production and repair base of computer equipment, network communications and communication equipment, organization of production and repair of computer equipment;
- analysis and testing of computer systems and networks;
- operational coordination of activities with structural units in the interests of informatization of the educational process and other activities of the University, as well as work involving interaction with the information and telecommunications system of the University.
The structural subdivisions of the Center are the following departments:
- network technologies and operation of information systems;
- application software;
- technical support of computer equipment.
