Department of Electrical Power Supply and Energy Management offers Bachelor's and Master's Degree Programs of specialty 141 «Electrical energetics, electrical engineering and electromechanics», field of study 14 «Electrical engineering», in both full-time and part-time study forms.
The Department provides all opportunities for students to become highly qualified professionals in electrical engineering as well as to start research and academic career.
Academic staff members of the Department have developed and implemented in the educational process programs of general engineering disciplines: Fundamentals of electrical engineering, as well as professional disciplines: Transients in power systems, Mathematical problems of electrical engineering, Power supply systems, Marketing research in power engineering, Energy saving, Renewable power sources, Basics of electric power objects modeling, Energy management in power consumption systems, etc.
Study & Research Laboratories are available at the Department:
- Electric machines and drives Lab equipped with Lenze and Danfoss devices;
- Power stations, substations and electric apparatus Lab;
- Relay protection and control systems Lab based on Eaton Corporation equipment;
- Industrial power supply systems Lab;
- Power systems and networks Lab;
- High voltage Lab.
In addition, the Department provides 2 study Computer Labs, equipped with personal computers. Students have the opportunity to use modern software for learning and research: AutoCAD, Mathcad, COMPASS-3D, MATLAB, Visio, etc.
The staff of the Department consists of 13 people, including 4 Professors and 4 Assistant Professors. Every year the teaching staff of the Department is replenished with young Department’s graduates. Over the years of its existence, the Department has trained about 2500 specialists.
The professional scope of Department’s graduates includes both the design and operation of power supply systems, as well as new functions of electricity sales, industrial power control and management.
The graduates work in power departments of research institutes ("Ukrdiprokharchoprom", JSC "Tsukroavtomat"), engineering design organizations ("Kyivproekt", "Ukrdipromysomolprom", PJSC "Kyivoblenergo", "Kyivenergo"), representative offices of world leading companies in the field of electrical engineering and automation (Danfoss, Eaton, Mitsubishi, ABB).
Department’s graduates work as directors, chief power engineers and power service employees in food and other industries, as well as at public utility companies.
Among graduates there are Doctors of Sciences, Candidates of Sciences, Research scientists, Teachers of higher education institutions.
